After the “2022 Korea Robot Company of the Year Award” held at L Tower on the 19th, an industry meeting was held with Kim Ho-chul, head of the Ministry of Industry’s mechanical robot aviation division, Son Woong-hee, full-time vice chairman of the Korea Robot Industry Association, Yoo Hyun-soo, and representatives of 26 award-winning companies.
At the meeting hosted by Cho Kyu-nam, CEO of Robot Newspaper, various opinions on ways and proposals to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic robot industry were presented. In particular, several proposals on cooperation between domestic robot companies to enter the global market, ways to foster manpower, and quick standard-setting activities drew attention.

At the meeting, participants stressed the need to establish various cooperative channels between the domestic robot industry to actively cope with the offensive of Chinese robot products and support domestic robot companies’ entry into overseas markets. In particular, he suggested that overseas exhibitions and overseas certification support policies are urgently needed.
Park Myung-kyu, CEO of Hills Robotics, suggested, “Let schools, companies, and local governments work together to create a robot base innovation center to foster manpower and establish a system in which local governments provide policy support.”
