Domestic robot startups are on the verge of entering the U.S. procurement market.
Hills Robotics announced on the 5th that it has recently obtained a qualification for supply procurement in the healthcare sector from health authorities in Massachusetts, USA. Through Westcop, a local procurement company, quarantine robots and return robots will be supplied to educational institutions and medical institutions in Massachusetts for six years. The total contract amount is about 8 billion won, and robots will be supplied from October when related procedures such as obtaining UL certification are completed.
Hills Robotics is an autonomous robot startup founded in 2018. It won the CES Innovation Award for three consecutive years from 2021 to this year due to its strengths in 3D high-precision map production technology and artificial intelligence (AI)-based operating system. Hills Robotics is pushing for a contract to supply robots to North America and Europe with the CES Innovation Award.
The company has set a goal of targeting overseas markets by securing safety certification, which is essential for local robot businesses. It plans to expand its procurement range from Massachusetts to the entire United States by establishing a partnership with Westcop.
